Mövenpick SS Misr The Steamer Nile Cruise
On board the SS Misr by Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts, see the beauties of the old world in comfort and vintage charm.
The SS Misr, which was originally built by the British Royal Navy in 1918 and then transformed into a luxurious Nile schooner for King Farouk, is a true time capsule that revives nostalgia for a bygone era while offering accommodations, food, and services that are truly luxurious.
Facilities & Rooms:
The 16 cabins and 8 suites of the SS Misr by Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts are designed to evoke the eras of Louis XV and XVI, the British and Othoman Empires, and the wonderfully cool sophistication of Art Deco. Every cabin and suite has a private balcony with a beautiful view of the Nile, as well as a private bathroom with a bathtub, air conditioning, a hairdryer, a minibar, satellite TV, an internal phone, a safe, two life jackets, and free wifi.
Food and entertainment:
The atmosphere of regal brilliance is completed with excellent dining, crystal, fine china, and immaculate service from staff dressed as during King Farouk’s reign. Black and white photographs of the royal family and significant historical moments in Egypt’s history cover one wall of the lavishly elegant Marasem Restaurant, allowing diners to ‘experience the past’ while still indulging in exquisite fare.
Drinks before supper are usually had at the English-style Dhabiyyat Bar. After-dinner beverages are best enjoyed in the Saraya Lounge, where you may unwind and listen to live piano music. The Tashrifa lobby, sundecks, and pool on the steamship are the ideal places to unwind after exploring the Upper Nile’s attractions. A cocktail reception is part of a particular leisure program that is offered.
