From Pharaohs to Pool Towels , Every Detail Shines
This cruise had everything — knowledge, comfort, and just the right amount of adventure.
We explored places older than memory and returned to a boat that treated us like modern royalty.
The spa treatment was one of the best I’ve had — quiet, restorative, and professional.
My wife spent hours lounging with a book while I joined cooking demonstrations with the chef (yes, I now make molokhia).
This wasn’t just a Nile cruise. It was an experience where every detail, from history to hospitality, came together perfectly.

Floating Between Centuries With a Smooth Sail and Endless Charm
There’s something surreal about sailing a river that’s seen it all — wars, gods, love stories.
The Esplanade made us feel like we were part of that timeline, even if just for a few days.
Every morning, I watched the mist lift from the water with coffee in hand. Then we’d head off to explore tombs, temples, and ruins that felt sacred.
The boat was peaceful, refined, and never too crowded. The atmosphere was just right for meaningful travel — thoughtful, not flashy.
Highly immersive and beautifully done.

Luxury Cabins , Ancient Legends and Poolside Naps
Let me tell you, nothing — and I mean nothing — beats napping by a pool while you drift along the Nile.
Every day we woke up in a new location, ready to explore history that felt more like legend. Our cabin had all the amenities you’d expect from a fancy hotel: strong A/C, huge windows, and even turn-down service with sweets.
Edfu was my favorite temple. The layout, the inscriptions, the scale — it was just breathtaking.
And then back on board, the staff always welcomed us with drinks and smiles. Felt like royalty the whole ride.

Every Day a Story , Every Night a Feast on the Esplanade
Each stop along this cruise felt like a chapter in a book I never wanted to end.
Luxor? A living museum. Kom Ombo? Mythical madness. Aswan? Relaxation central.
But let’s talk food — Egyptian cuisine aboard the Esplanade was both flavorful and beautifully presented. We tried everything from lentil soup to grilled kofta, and it never disappointed.
The staff remembered our names, our preferences, and even joked with us like old friends.
This cruise gave us a taste of ancient history and modern hospitality all in one.

From Dusty Tombs to Rooftop Views – Luxury in Layers
What got me most was the contrast — one minute you’re deep in a pharaoh’s tomb, brushing dust off your shoes, the next you’re back on the Esplanade sipping lemon tea under a shaded canopy.
It’s the kind of vacation that stimulates your mind and spoils your body.
The itinerary was a dream — not rushed, not slow. Just right.
Our favorite moment? Watching the sun dip behind the date palms while a local oud player strummed traditional tunes on deck. Pure atmosphere.
Nettie Rose Callahan –
Mummified Crocodiles , Soft Pillows and a Nile Full of Memories
I wasn’t sure what to expect from a Nile cruise, but I wasn’t expecting to meet mummified crocodiles! Kom Ombo was fascinating — a dual temple with stories for both gods and beasts.
After sweating through temples (worth it), the Esplanade welcomed us back with cool towels and mint lemonade. The little things made a big difference.
Our suite was airy, tastefully decorated, and the bed so comfy I nearly skipped breakfast once.
This was more than a vacation — it was a perfect blend of odd facts, timeless views, and unexpected comfort.
Otis Glen Honeycutt –
Aswan’s Beauty , Esplanade’s Elegance and One Grinning Grandpa
I was grinning like a schoolboy from the second we reached Aswan. The way the city hugs the river is pure magic.
The Esplanade made everything better with its five-star setup. The dining room? All linen and candlelight. The food? Let’s just say I’m now addicted to Egyptian rice pudding.
At Philae Temple, I stood there wondering how something that old could still look so majestic.
This cruise hit every sweet spot — scenic, serene, and filled with stories I’m still telling my grandkids.
Clara Maye Hollister –
History So Rich , I Forgot About My Phone
This trip did the impossible — it made me forget to check my phone for three days straight.
There’s just something about drifting along the Nile, staring out at ancient temples and sleepy villages, that resets your brain.
The excursions were packed with information and photo ops, but never overwhelming. Our guide knew exactly how to bring mythology to life.
Between outings, I’d sink into a plush cabana, order a mango smoothie, and read about Ramses II while listening to soft Egyptian jazz from the deck speakers.
Who knew history and luxury made such a dreamy combo?
Luther Boyd Puckett –
Horse Carriages , Falcon Gods , and Rooftop Mojitos
One highlight of the Esplanade cruise? Rolling through Edfu town in a horse-drawn carriage like I was starring in an old adventure movie.
Then, bam — Horus Temple. Massive walls, detailed carvings, and stories of revenge that’d put any modern drama to shame.
The ship was the perfect balance to the action. I’m talking sleek, polished, with a rooftop bar that served up the coldest mojitos this side of the Sahara.
Even the pool loungers were somehow better than the ones I have at home — maybe it was the Nile breeze.
Every day was a ride, and I loved every second.
Earlene Fay McClintock –
A Floating Boutique Hotel With a View Older Than Time
Right from the first step aboard the Esplanade, it was clear this was no ordinary cruise. The staff greeted us with warm smiles and cold karkadeh, and I immediately felt like I was part of something special.
Our cabin was spotless, elegant, and surprisingly spacious — plus, it had the kind of bedding that makes you sleep like a pharaoh.
The real magic happened outside though. Cruising past palm-lined shores, spotting birds, and hearing the distant call to prayer while sipping coffee felt deeply moving.
Each day’s excursion added a layer to the story — Karnak, Edfu, Kom Ombo — all woven into an epic tale of gods, kings, and crocs.
Evenings were for quiet reflection under a sky full of stars. The way Egypt reveals itself on this cruise is simply unforgettable.
Ellie Mae Putnam –
Soaking Up Ancient Stories , Luxury Linens and Riverside Sunsets
Y’all, this cruise was smoother than grandma’s peach pie.
The Esplanade glided along the Nile like it had done it for centuries — maybe it has in spirit.
From temple tours to lazy afternoons on the deck, I never felt rushed. We even had time to chat with locals during one of the stops — my favorite moment.
That top deck at sunset was my happy place. I’d sip something sweet and watch the sky turn colors I didn’t know existed.
It was history served with elegance , and I devoured every minute.
Virgil Clyde Dawson –
My Feet Were in Egypt , My Soul in Another Era
Esplanade’s cruise is the kind of experience that sneaks into your dreams. Even now, I catch myself smelling the Nile breeze or hearing the boat’s gentle drift as I try to sleep back home.
Our guide walked us through Luxor and explained the rituals of the afterlife like he was giving a TED talk. The west bank tombs had me thinking deep thoughts about legacy and time — real philosophical stuff for a guy like me.
Then you’d go back to the boat and get a slice of chocolate tart that made you forget you were anywhere but heaven.
It’s the contrast that makes it magic.

When You Cruise With Esplanade , You Float Through Time
From the moment we stepped on board the Esplanade, I felt like I had slipped into a National Geographic special — only with room service.
The temples were breathtaking. I especially loved Edfu’s layout — riding in the horse-drawn carriage through the village felt like stepping back in time.
And every night, we got to return to five-star comfort. I’m talking pressed linens, personalized turndown service, and a spa robe I may or may not have tried to smuggle home.
The combination of exploration and elegance was unlike anything I’ve done before.
Hank Travis McGraw –
The Nile , Cabanas , and a Whole Lot of Wow
We booked this cruise thinking it’d be a chill way to see some sights — what we got was next-level relaxation with a heavy dose of ancient wonder.
Luxor blew my mind. You walk where pharaohs once ruled, and it’s not just ruins — it’s history pulsing in the heat.
But the real surprise was how peaceful the Esplanade felt. Those poolside cabanas? I spent half a day in one reading and pretending I didn’t have emails waiting back home.
If you want serenity with a splash of sand and stories, this is the trip.
Willa Jean Cartwright –
Cabins So Fancy I Almost Forgot We Were Floating
We’d heard the Esplanade was one of the top-tier Nile cruises, but nothing prepared us for how plush everything felt.
Our room had giant windows with Nile views better than anything Netflix could dream up. Luxurious bedding, tasteful decor — it felt more boutique hotel than cruise ship.
The tour stops were timed like clockwork, and our guide made sure we caught the best light for temple photos.
Kom Ombo surprised me the most — it wasn’t just a temple, it was a full-on museum for crocodiles. Even the gift shop had actual bite.
I’d go again just to spend more time on that upper deck with my feet up and the Nile breezing by.
Cletus Joe Pennington –
Sailing the Nile in Style While Channeling My Inner Pharaoh
This cruise made me feel like royalty. I’m talking Cleopatra-level luxury, folks.
The MS Esplanade had this subtle elegance — marble floors, glowing lanterns, staff who somehow remembered your favorite drink after the first day.
Each temple visit felt like unlocking a chapter of a lost book. I couldn’t get over the detail in the carvings — Edfu, especially, was just mind-blowing.
Evenings were my favorite: lounging on deck, sipping cold karkadeh, watching the moon hang low over the water like some kind of ancient spotlight.
It wasn’t just a vacation. It was an adventure wrapped in velvet.
Maisie Belle Hargrove –
History , Hibiscus Tea and Hot Stone Massages on the Nile
Whoever thought ancient history and full-body spa indulgence could go together deserves a prize. The Esplanade nailed it.
After hiking through the Valley of the Kings, we got pampered in the lower deck’s serene spa. The hot stone massage was so good, I nearly missed dinner (which would’ve been a tragedy — the lentil soup alone was divine).
Every stop was perfectly timed. We never felt rushed but also never bored. The stories behind the temples — especially at Edfu — had me scribbling in my journal like a tourist archaeologist.
And don’t even get me started on the sunrises. The way light spills over the river at dawn is something I’ll carry with me forever.

From Luxor’s Tombs to Edfu’s Temple – A Timeless Journey
The cruise from Luxor to Aswan on the MS Esplanade was nothing short of cinematic. One day you’re exploring tombs carved into rock, the next you’re sipping tea while sailing past banana plantations.
Edfu’s Horus temple left me speechless. I didn’t know you could feel the weight of 2,000 years just by walking through a stone gate. Our guide (who was as excited as we were) brought mythology to life with wild tales of sky gods and sibling rivalries.
Between excursions, we relaxed poolside with mocktails and soaked up the golden afternoon light. The upper deck was breezy and shaded — a perfect mix for my pale complexion.
I swear the Nile whispered secrets through our cabin windows at night. Esplanade isn’t just about history — it’s about living inside a story.
Darla Sue Whitmore –
Kom Ombo , Sun Loungers and Crocodiles – What a Combo
I can’t believe how much they packed into just four nights aboard the Esplanade. From our first glass of welcome hibiscus juice to the farewell breakfast overlooking Aswan, every detail was spot-on.
The cabin was something out of a dream — silky sheets, soft lighting, and even a TV we never used because the Nile was way more captivating.
At Kom Ombo, we marveled at the twin temples and learned all about Sobek the crocodile god. I didn’t expect to find crocodile mummies in my vacation photos, but hey, they made for great stories back home.
Evenings were for lounging, nibbling mezze, and watching the sun melt into the river. And yes, I took a ridiculous number of pictures of the lanterns lighting up the deck at night.
For folks who like their adventures wrapped in luxury, this cruise is the sweet spot.

Sailing in Comfort While Discovering the Ancient Wonders of Egypt
We hopped on the MS Esplanade for a weeklong escape into the world of pharaohs and forgotten gods — and let me tell you, we didn’t want to leave. The ship? Straight-up luxury. Every inch of it gleamed like a well-polished scarab. Our cabin was a cozy oasis with a view that made sunrise coffee feel like a spiritual experience.
We wandered through Luxor’s majestic tombs, stood beneath the towering columns of Karnak, and sailed past golden desert landscapes that looked like they were painted by the gods themselves. A stop at Kom Ombo was a surprising hit — mummified crocodiles? Didn’t see that coming!
Back on board, the top deck was our sanctuary. I lost track of how many times I dozed off in those shaded cabanas while the Nile hummed its ancient lullaby. Oh, and the spa — quiet as a whisper, soothing as a Nubian sunset.
This cruise doesn’t just pamper you. It grabs your hand, twirls you around ancient temples, and leaves you breathless from both history and comfort.
