  1. Day 1: Abu Simbel & Kasr Ibrim Fortress

Day 1: Abu Simbel & Kasr Ibrim Fortress Embarkation and Pharaonic Monuments Your journey begins immediately following your visit to the iconic temples at Abu Simbel. Abu Simbel Temples: You will visit the twin temples originally carved into the mountainside during the 19th Dynasty reign of Pharaoh Ramses II (circa 13th century BC). These monumental structures, completed around 1265 BC, serve as a lasting testament to the King and his Queen Nefertari, commemorating the victory at the Battle of Kadesh. The Great Temple is dedicated to the gods Amun, Ra-Horakhty, Ptah, and the deified Ramses himself. Lunch Onboard: After the visit, you will board the SAÏ Dahabiya and enjoy lunch as you commence a four-hour sail north. Kasr Ibrim (Ibrim Palace): Sail to this unique monument, the only structure in Nubia that remains in its original location, having been converted into an Ottoman fortress. Though looted over time, the site holds historical remains from the Christian and Islamic periods. Overnight: The SAÏ Dahabiya will anchor in one of the secluded creeks near Kasr Ibrim. Dinner is served on board.

  2. Day 2: UNESCO Temples & Wadi El Arab Valley

Day 2: UNESCO Temples & Wadi El Arab Valley Amada, Pennout, and El Derr Enjoy breakfast on board. Today, you will explore a cluster of significant temples that were meticulously moved by UNESCO and other organizations to save them from the rising waters. Temple Visits: Disembark the SAÏ Dahabiya early to visit the temples of Amada, Pennout, and El Derr: Amada Temple: Considered one of the most interesting temples in Nubia, originally built by Kings Thoutmosis III and Amenophis II. El Derr Temple: Dates back to Ramses II, dedicated to the God Amun, and later served as a church during the Coptic Era. Tomb of Pennout: A tomb that was carefully cut and moved block by block from the Nubian village of Aniba. Sailing and Scenery: Return on board for lunch. The SAÏ Dahabiya will then continue sailing through the dramatic, mountainous region of Korousko and Wadi El Arab, one of the largest Nubian valleys. Keep an eye out for nomadic birds that visit Lake Nasser annually. Overnight: SAÏ anchors in the Wadi El Arab area for the night. Dinner is served on board.

  3. Day 3: Dakka, Wadi El Seboua & Lake Nasser's Vastness

Day 3: Dakka, Wadi El Seboua & Lake Nasser's Vastness Relocated Temples and Wildlife Spotting Breakfast on board precedes a day dedicated to exploring three more relocated temples known for their unique beauty, as the SAI Dahabiya travels further down Lake Nasser. Temple Exploration: You will anchor to visit the sites of Wadi El Seboua, Dakka, and Meharraqa: Wadi El Seboua: Also known as the "Valley of the Lions" due to the sphinx-lined pathway, built by Pharaoh Ramses II. Dakka (Pselchis): Originally built by the Nubian king Ergamenes II and Ptolemy II, later refurbished by Roman Emperors Augustus and Tiberius. Sailing Highlights: Pass by the Abu Steta desert, known for its golden sand dunes and exotic bird congregations in the small lagoons (pelicans, cormorants, flamingos, etc., in season). The boat will cross the area of Khour El Alaki, the widest part of Lake Nasser, spanning up to 60 km. You will also pass the often choppy Bab Kalabsha area. Overnight: The Dahabiya will journey to spend the night in one of the sheltered bays. Dinner is served on board.

  4. Day 4: Kalabsha, Beit El Wali & Disembarkation in Aswan

Day 4: Kalabsha, Beit El Wali & Disembarkation in Aswan Roman Sites, Final Swim, and Conclusion Breakfast is served as the SAÏ Dahabiya makes an early departure towards Aswan city, offering a beautiful display of the Lake’s banks. Final Temple Visits: You will visit the original sites of Beit El Wali and Kalabsha, conveniently located just 10 minutes from the dock. Kalabsha Temple (Mandoulis): Dates back to the Roman period, this large temple was rescued and moved to its current location. Beit El Wali: Meaning "House of the Saint," this temple was carved into the mountain during the reign of Ramses II. Lake Swim: Before concluding your journey, enjoy a final dip in the clear waters of Lake Nasser. Check-Out: The cruise officially concludes at Aswan. Passengers disembark and are assisted with their onward travel arrangements.

Discover Untamed Nubia: The SAI Dahabiya 4 Days Abu Simbel to Aswan Cruise Embark on an extraordinary expedition into the untouched beauty and profound history of Lower Nubia aboard the elegant river yacht, SAÏ. This unique SAI Dahabiya 4 Days Abu Simbel to Aswan cruise is more than a journey; it is a personalized discovery of Lake Nasser’s majestic waters and its salvaged archaeological treasures. Named after the silty island of SAÏ in Upper Nubia (Northern Sudan)—an area rich with untapped history—the SAI Dahabiya 4 Days Abu Simbel to Aswan voyage is designed to offer an immersive, off-the-beaten-path experience. You will explore a great civilization whose kings ruled Egypt for centuries, all while traveling on a vessel that is itself a testament to artisanal craftsmanship and environmental respect.

The Vessel: SAÏ’s Elegant Design and Eco-Conscious Cruising

The SAÏ Dahabiya is a masterpiece of traditional construction. Entirely handcrafted from wood over five years, the boat exudes a rustic yet elegant ambiance. Cruising on this special vessel allows for a deeper connection with the serene environment of Lake Nasser.

Design & Comfort

Floating 26 meters in length and stretching 6.5 meters wide, SAÏ is perfectly sized to provide exclusivity and comfort. The Dahabiya accommodates a maximum of 12 guests in six luxurious, two-passenger cabins:

  • Main Deck Cabins: Four cabins, each featuring a private bathroom.
  • Upper Deck Cabins: Two cabins, each featuring a private bathroom and the added luxury of private terraces that offer stunning, personal views of Lake Nasser throughout your voyage.

The vessel’s interior, especially the lounge bar and restaurant, is inspired by the traditional Nubian style, creating a cozy and welcoming atmosphere.

Commitment to Sustainability

SAÏ is designed with environmental stewardship in mind. Its optimized cruising speed consumes a minimum of energy, actively promoting ecotourism in this unique region of southern Egypt. The Dahabiya is equipped with a dual power system: a generator for electric power and solar panels that provide clean 220V power both day and night, ensuring a quieter, cleaner journey across the lake.

The Unexplored Beauty of Nubia Cruising

The banks of Lake Nasser, largely inaccessible by road, remain a genuinely unexplored wilderness. This “safari cruise” concept allows the SAÏ Dahabiya to sneak into secluded, untouched corners that large vessels simply cannot reach.

Nature and Wildlife

For birdwatchers and nature lovers, the winter period, in particular, offers a rare spectacle of flora and fauna. Early in the morning, you can admire dozens of species of migratory birds, including the magnificent white pelican, the black kite, the egret, the Nubian goose, and the Ibis. This unique perspective on the landscape provides opportunities for contemplation, relaxation, and meditation, perfect for activities like Yoga.

History of the Black Pharaohs

The SAI Dahabiya voyage across the vast reservoir of Lake Nasser will immerse you in the history of a great civilization. You will discover the famous temples of Nubia, which were miraculously saved from the rising waters of the Aswan High Dam project thanks to the massive effort led by UNESCO. This cruise provides the ultimate path to learn about the history of Nubia and its great kings and queens, the so-called Black Pharaohs.
