  1. Day 01: Arrival in Aswan, City Wonders, and Embarkation

Day 01: Arrival in Aswan, City Wonders, and Embarkation Your journey begins upon arrival in the beautiful city of Aswan. A representative will greet you and transfer you to your Lake Nasser Nile Cruise ship for check-in and embarkation. After settling into your cabin, you'll enjoy Lunch onboard. In the afternoon, join your Egyptologist for a tour of Aswan’s key sights. You will first visit the High Dam, an engineering marvel built in the 1960s by President Gamal Abdel Nasser to control the Nile's annual flooding. Next, take a motorboat ride on the Nile to Agilika Island to explore the magnificent Temple of Philae. This temple, dedicated to the goddess Isis (mother of the god Horus), was constructed during the Greco-Roman period and meticulously moved to its current location. Finally, you will be escorted to see the Unfinished Obelisk, a colossal structure made of red granite and dedicated to the god Amun-Ra, which provides crucial insights into ancient Egyptian stone-cutting techniques. After a full day of touring, return to your ship for Dinner and overnight docking. Meals Included: Lunch, Dinner

  2. Day 02: Kalabsha Temple and Sailing South

Day 02: Kalabsha Temple and Sailing South Today, you begin sailing south, visiting temples dedicated to both Egyptian and Nubian gods. Enjoy Breakfast onboard your ship before joining your guide to explore the Temple of Kalabsha. Situated near the High Dam, this is often the first historical stop on the Lake Nasser cruise. The temple was moved 30 miles south of its original site. Completed under the Roman Emperor Augustus, it exhibits a fascinating blend of Egyptian and Roman themes, with images of emperors worshipping Egyptian gods. It was primarily dedicated to the Nubian god Mandulis. You will also visit Beit El Wali, a small rock-cut temple (speos) built by Ramesses II. Rescued by a Polish archaeological team, this temple's well-preserved reliefs and unique cruciform design offer a detailed look into the Pharaoh’s reign. Afterward, return to the cruise for refreshment and Lunch. The cruise will then sail to Wadi El Seboua, passing by the Tropic of Cancer. Dinner will be served onboard as you sail, followed by an overnight stay. Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

  3. Day 03: The Valley of the Lions and Ancient Amada

Day 03: The Valley of the Lions and Ancient Amada Explore a significant New Kingdom temple complex before visiting the oldest monument on the lake. After Breakfast onboard, you will visit Wadi El Seboua. The site's Arabic name means "Valley of the Lions," referencing the sphinx-lined avenue that leads to the temple built during the reign of Ramesses II. Now home to two New Kingdom temples, this relocated site demonstrates the scope of the ancient pharaohs’ power in Nubia. You'll return to the ship for Lunch. The boat will then sail to Amada, where you will visit the Amada Temple. Dating from the 18th Dynasty of the New Kingdom, this is the oldest of the monuments around Lake Nasser, predating both Ramesses II and Abu Simbel by approximately two hundred years. However, true to form, the marks of Ramesses II and his son Merenptah can also be found within this historic structure. Dinner is served onboard, with overnight docking. Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

  4. Day 04: The Island Citadel and Colossal Abu Simbel

Day 04: The Island Citadel and Colossal Abu Simbel Today brings a morning sailing view of a historic citadel and an afternoon visit to Egypt's most famous rock-cut temples. Enjoy an early Sail to Kasr Ibrim. You will View Kasr Ibrim from the Sundeck of the cruise ship. This citadel was once a formidable city situated high above the Nile River; however, today it appears dramatically as an island due to the creation of the Aswan High Dam. The ship then continues its Sail to Abu Simbel. After Lunch onboard, you will visit the magnificent Abu Simbel Temple. Built on the west bank of the Nile between the first and second cataracts, this site contains two temples carved into a mountainside by Pharaoh Ramesses II. As you learn, these temples were dismantled and relocated in 1968, 64 meters above and 180 meters west of their original site, which is now flooded. Optional Evening Experience: In the evening, you have the option to attend a fascinating Sound & Light Show at Abu Simbel Temple. The Grand Monuments of the Extended Nubian Sea Nile Cruise 5 Days

The extended duration of the Nubian Sea Nile Cruise allows for a deeper appreciation of the monumental sites scattered along Lake Nasser’s shores. These magnificent structures were painstakingly relocated to preserve them from the flooding caused by the Aswan High Dam in the 1960s.

  1. Abu Simbel Temple: The journey culminates (or begins) with the awe-inspiring Abu Simbel Temple. These two massive rock-cut temples, built by Ramesses II and dedicated to himself and his wife, Queen Nefertari, are the highlight of any Lake Nasser voyage. Their relocation was an engineering feat of global significance, and their colossal scale is a must-see.
  2. Kalabsha Temple: Often the first stop when sailing from Aswan. This great temple, originally dedicated to the Nubian god Mandulis, is the largest freestanding temple in Nubia. Its construction, started by the Ptolemies and finished by the Roman Emperor Augustus, shows an intriguing mix of Egyptian and Roman imperial themes.
  3. Beit El Wali: A beautifully preserved, smaller rock-cut temple built by Ramesses II. It features striking reliefs that vividly depict the king’s victories in battle, offering a fascinating glimpse into the pharaoh’s military life and the details of the ancient Egyptian army.
  4. Wadi El Seboua: Known as the “Valley of the Lions,” this temple features an avenue of sphinxes that leads up to the structure. This site beautifully demonstrates the transition between rock-cut and free-standing temples and is dedicated to Amun and Ra-Horakhty, reflecting the diverse religious practices of ancient Nubia.
  5. Amada Temple: Considered the oldest Egyptian temple in the Lake Nasser region. Built primarily by Thutmose III, it is renowned for possessing the best-preserved and most colorful painted reliefs in all of Nubia, detailing significant historical events and rituals.
  6. Kasr Ibrim Citadel: An important fortified city, the ruins of Kasr Ibrim Citadel are now partially submerged. Passengers on the Nubian Sea Nile Cruise get a unique vantage point, viewing the dramatic ruins from the ship’s sun deck as the cruise sails past—a breathtaking reminder of the lake’s creation and impact on the local geography.
