A soft bed , a wild ride , and a date with ancient kings
This cruise spoiled me rotten . The only decisions I made were : spa or sun deck ?
The Temple of Horus ? Mesmerizing . I touched stone carvings from thousands of years ago — with permission , of course !
Then we’d return to hot towels , mint tea , and stories with new friends from around the world .
It felt like time stopped just for us .

A floating hotel , an ancient world , and five-star service
Esplanade exceeded my expectations in every way .
Cabin : Quiet , cold , and comfy .
Food : Perfectly spiced , perfectly served .
Temples : Mind-blowing . I still get chills thinking about the columns at Luxor Temple at night .
The Kom Ombo stop was weird and wild ( crocodile gods , anyone ? ) and the staff on board never stopped smiling .
I didn’t want to get off the boat .

Where Egypt’s stories meet spa robes and Nile breezes
The Esplanade was a floating love letter to Egypt . Everything felt intentional — the decor , the excursions , the desserts !
I got misty at Karnak , laughed at crocodile mummies , and nearly proposed to the chef after trying his pomegranate lamb .
My room felt like a sanctuary after hot days of tomb-hopping .
This cruise is how you do Egypt right .

Four days , eight temples , and a hundred unforgettable moments
Don’t let the ” short cruise ” label fool you . This was a full adventure .
We boarded in Aswan and by that evening , I was already raving about the rooftop bar , the ridiculously good baba ghanoush , and the view of Elephantine Island .
Edfu was a highlight , especially riding to the temple by horse carriage .
Between temple treks , we had time to soak up the sun , sink into the spa , and chat with fellow travelers over mango cocktails .
I left more tan , more informed , and way more relaxed .
Ruby May Calhoun –
Sunsets , sarcophagi , and saffron-scented dinners on the Nile
Every detail on the Esplanade was curated like a museum , but one you could nap and eat in .
We stopped at the marvels of Luxor , stared wide-eyed at Kom Ombo , and floated like royalty between each ancient wonder .
The cruise staff made everything feel intimate , like we were their only guests . And the dining room ? Linen , lanterns , and laughter .
The river at night is pure magic .

Cabins like palaces , crocs in the temples , and spa dreams
This cruise didn’t just pamper — it educated , entertained , and wowed me every single day .
Our guide was as smooth as the Nile current , and the cabin was quiet , clean , and cool ( no small feat in Upper Egypt ) .
We geeked out hard at Edfu , and later I fell asleep during a hot stone massage — not because it was boring , but because I’d reached peak relaxation .
Food ? Let’s just say I gained three pounds and have no regrets .
Bonnie Faye Riggins –
Floating between history , elegance , and endless Egyptian sunshine
From the moment we boarded in Aswan , I felt like I’d stepped into an Agatha Christie novel — minus the murder , thank heavens .
The boat is pristine , all wood paneling and polished brass . But it was the mood that struck me most : calm , reverent , indulgent .
Our guide brought the ruins alive with stories about gods and pharaohs , and the Kom Ombo crocodile museum? Hilariously weird and oddly fascinating .
Food was gourmet , and the rooftop bar had the kind of views that make you forget your phone exists .
This was a soulful , stunning journey .

A magical mix of temples , tales , and truly five-star treatment
I’ve cruised rivers in Europe , but this ? This was in a league of its own . The Esplanade didn’t just move us along the Nile — it carried us through time .
Every room oozed comfort . My wife claimed the sheets were woven by Egyptian gods .
Temple stops were thrilling , especially Kom Ombo . Who knew ancient people preserved crocodiles ? That’s dedication !
Back on board , we lounged like Cleopatra and Julius . The staff ? Unbelievable . Always remembered our names and even brought my favorite ginger tea without asking .
Evenings under the stars with soft oud music playing in the background — man , I felt like I was in a movie .
Wanda Pearl McAllister –
Starry nights , sacred stones , and a cruise wrapped in elegance
This cruise gave me goosebumps — the good kind . Every temple told a story , and every evening felt like a reward for our daytime curiosity .
We started in Aswan , where the river feels calm and wide , then gradually glided north , each day bringing us closer to Luxor’s magic .
The suite we stayed in had soft lighting , crisp linens , and a window view that changed like moving art .
I fell in love with Edfu’s quiet grandeur , and later , the chef’s tahini sauce .
One night , I danced with strangers under Egyptian stars .
It felt like something out of a dream .

Crocodile mummies and cabanas — the weirdly perfect vacation combo
This cruise made me rethink what a vacation should feel like . It wasn’t rushed . It wasn’t loud . It was full of stories , color , and comfort .
The Esplanade is a floating oasis . One moment you’re tracing cartouches at Edfu , the next you’re ordering lemon mint on the top deck .
Kom Ombo was a wild surprise — crocodile mummies ? Who knew that was a thing ?
The crew treated us like Nile royalty , without a single trace of pretense .
Charlene Mae Forrester –
Pharaohs , pampering , and poolside naps along the Nile
From the second we stepped aboard the Esplanade , I knew I’d need stretchy pants . Everything was decadent — the food , the cabins , the vibe .
We sailed slowly from Aswan to Luxor , stopping at wonders I’d only seen in documentaries . I touched hieroglyphs older than some languages .
One afternoon , I skipped a temple visit just to stay in the spa — zero regrets . That hot stone massage was worth every sunburned freckle .
I loved the pool deck’s chilled towels and surprise fruit smoothies .
And watching the sun set behind the columns of Karnak ? That stays with you .
Roy Dean Temple –
Between ancient ruins and river breezes , peace found me here
Look , I don’t usually do “ fancy ” , but this cruise made me reconsider . The Esplanade from Aswan to Luxor was a gentle mix of wonder , warmth , and way too many dessert options .
I geeked out over Horus at Edfu , then melted into a poolside nap before dinner . One night , they served a lamb tagine that could make you believe in magic .
Even the engine hum felt calming after a while .
The real kicker ? No Wi-Fi stress . Just ancient sites and kind smiles .
I came back lighter , tanner , and weirdly into papyrus art .
Georgia Ray Simmons –
Where luxury meets legend — a cruise of stories and stars
This wasn’t just a cruise . It was an unfolding storybook with a really fancy soundtrack .
The Esplanade blends comfort and culture so effortlessly . We were only on board for four nights , but I swear it felt like two weeks of relaxation crammed into a history lesson .
The Kom Ombo stop had us chatting with a local Egyptologist who explained crocodile worship like it was the most normal thing in the world .
Back on the ship , I melted into the spa and genuinely forgot how to stress .
From the wood-paneled dining room to the freshly baked bread each morning , every detail said “ we care ” .
And yes , I did cry a little during the sunset over Luxor Temple . No shame .

Cruising in style , learning legends , and living the Nile dream
You ever take a trip that makes real life feel like a pale imitation ? That’s what happened to me and my wife on the Esplanade .
The ship feels like a luxury hotel got magically placed on the Nile . Elegant lounges , shaded outdoor cabanas , a top-deck pool , and cabins that smell like fresh jasmine — I mean , come on .
History-wise , this cruise hit hard . The Temple of Horus in Edfu was majestic , but Luxor’s east and west banks stole the show . I felt like I was walking through history’s greatest hits .
Onboard entertainment was surprisingly tasteful — traditional music one night , an impromptu dance lesson the next .
And can we talk about the staff ? They remembered our names and our tea preferences like we were old friends .
Nancy Lee Dillard –
Sailing into ancient mystery with foot rubs and fruity drinks
So there I was , wrapped in a robe , sipping mango juice on the sun deck while the banks of the Nile rolled by like an old movie reel .
That’s what it felt like aboard the MS Esplanade .
We joined the cruise in early February , a sweet spot between the New Year crowds and the summer blaze . Every day was an adventure — one moment we’re gasping at the grandeur of Luxor’s Karnak Temple , the next we’re giggling over the crocodile display at Kom Ombo like middle schoolers on a field trip .
Back on board , things mellowed out fast . The spa was hushed , peaceful , and had some of the best foot massages I’ve ever experienced ( and I’ve tested plenty ) .
Food ? Like a high-end Egyptian-Mediterranean wedding feast every single night .
Sunset from the top deck was unreal — like someone turned up the saturation on the sky .
Clayton Rowe –
Golden dunes , ancient gods , and the coziest cruise cabin ever
I’m still dreaming about that Nile breeze on the upper deck ! The MS Esplanade took us from Aswan to Luxor like we were royalty — minus the drama . Every stop was like flipping through a living history book , with Kom Ombo giving off serious spooky ( but cool ) vibes thanks to its crocodile tombs .
What struck me most was the staff’s attention to detail . I swear , my coffee was never more than a blink away .
The Edfu temple took my breath away — I could almost hear the ancient chants echoing off the stones .
At night , we’d sit under the stars , trading stories with other passengers as the river lulled us into vacation bliss .
And that spa ? Let’s just say I briefly forgot how to form sentences from the relaxation .
This wasn’t just travel — it was transport into a luxurious dream .
Mabel Jean Carter –
Ancient secrets , riverside sunsets , and spa vibes on the Esplanade
Sailing from Aswan to Luxor aboard the Esplanade was a delightfully surreal experience . Imagine waking up to the sound of gentle waters , and looking out to find ancient temples dotting the landscape like forgotten jewels .
Our cabin felt like a boutique hotel room floating on water . The bedding was cloud-soft , and every morning we were greeted with fresh towels folded into animals — a little cheesy , but hey , I kept taking pictures anyway .
We explored the east and west banks of Luxor , then cruised on to Edfu’s majestic Temple of Horus , which made my inner Indiana Jones squeal .
But what truly sealed the deal was the rooftop cabana zone — picture warm wind , shaded lounges , and a bar that magically knew my drink order by day two .
By the time we reached Kom Ombo and learned about crocodile mummification , I was half laughing , half amazed . Egypt , you’re wild .
Earl Whitaker –
Floating past crocodiles and pharaohs in absolute five-star comfort
Our journey on the Esplanade Nile Cruise from Aswan to Luxor was like stepping into a luxurious time machine . We glided along the Nile while sipping hibiscus juice on a shaded cabana , watching the temples rise in the distance like ancient postcards . The cabin was spotless , draped in cream linens , and somehow stayed cooler than the desert breeze outside .
I lost count of how many times I said ” wow ” at the sights — Kom Ombo’s crocodile mummies were strangely adorable , and the Temple of Horus felt straight out of a movie set . Between excursions , we sunk into the spa’s silence , only disturbed by the occasional giggle from my partner trying the steam room for the first time .
The food ? Don’t get me started unless you want to drool .
The staff ? Friendlier than a golden retriever at a family BBQ .
And the history ? Well , I now know more about Ramses than I do about my own grandpa .
Highly memorable and utterly plush .
